Rivergate Marina 20-21 October 2007                                 Photos

Rivergate Marina on the southern bank of the Brisbane River immediately downstream of the Gateway Bridge was a great venue for our on-water-event in October. It was a fine weekend and the planning for the event by Richard Lane and Ian Rennie fell into place, and fortunately no one fell into the water

Marine Stadium 15-16 September 2007                               Photos

A fantastic weekend arranged by Artie Phillips saw about 14 members boats anchored-up in the crystal clear waters of a breezy Marine Stadium on Saturday. Birthday cheers for Chris Pine and Ingrid Millbourne and a warm welcome to 3 new members were extended at the beach BBQ where discussions flowed freely on tips and tricks, cruising experiences and potential club workshops. An electrical storm through the night didn't deliver the threatened rain (thankfully) and Sunday Morning dawned a beautiful sunny day with a light breeze. (more)

AGM Couran Cove 18-19 August 2007                                Photos

A well attended and lively AGM held at the picturesque Couran Cove. Chris Wright was honored with Life Membership - congratulations Chris - and the changing of the guard was toasted including our long-serving commodore George Szcsepanski who handed over to Wayne Jennings.  Click here to see the new committee names. Northside Marine had a new CR2800 for rides and viewing - thanks Greg.  Wonderful dinner and good conversation throughout the evening.

Richmond River 9-11 June 2007                                           Photos

The Saturday afternoon drinks and nibbles were great even though the wind was chilly and made us all decide to retreat back to our boats for dinner rather than BBQ on the beach.

The very sociable time was enjoyed by all and the chill in the air was much tempered by Keith's innovative stainless steel barrel fire on the beach. Always environmentally conscious, it was well fed by fine Mullumbimby firewood from the Miller's ranch. No doubt Keith and Edna are making good use of it now on their extended holiday to the west. We wish them a great and trouble-free trip

All in all it was a fantastic weekend and special thanks to Keith and Edna Miller for instigating and organising the new venue for the Club Whittley. (more)

Peel Island 5-7 May 2007

Peel Island was a great weekend with about 8 boats turning up to enjoy the fine weather, calm conditions - until 2am Monday when the SE change came through. (more)

Marine Stadium & Buds Beach 24-25 March 2007          Photos

Fabulous location amongst the Gold Coast's dazzling lights. Great BBQ spot at Buds Beach and a calm anchorage made for a great weekend with about 16 boats attending.

Karragarra 24-25 February 2007

Approximately 12 boats enjoyed a  great weekend at Karragarra, our alternate location due to the stiff SE wind that made Peel Island a bit uncomfortable.

Christmas - McLarens Landing & Dux Anchorage 9-10 December                                Photos

A fantastic event with 84 boats at McLarens Landing for Christmas dinner and 20 staying overnight at Dux. The event went off really well thanks to a great effort by Chris & Leanne Wright. Santa enthralled the kids and it was a most enjoyable weekend.  (more)

Karragarra 18-19 November                                                   Photos

A good weekend as usual with about a dozen boats present. There was a little bit of wind but not uncomfortable. We had a great BBQ with birthdays being celebrated by Owen Oxley, Del Bliss and Cathy Saunders.  Greg & Cathy ended up buying a house there during the weekend!

A delightful weekend with about a dozen boats. The Indy Cars were racing at Surfers Paradise, and the views down the Broadwater were as spectacular as ever.

Riverside coffee shops, some relaxed cruising and a bit of prop rock for one. All-up a great outing with about 17 boats turning up. A must do again. (more)

Labour Day Long Weekend - April / May 2006                  Photos

A brilliant start at Hope Island Resort Marina with a spectacular sunset and sumptuous dinner. Sunday and Monday at Caniapa passage for most, with some heading home early due to the change in forecast and others spending a relaxing time at Marine Stadium. (more)

Easter Rally - Gippsland Lakes, VIC - 2006                        Photos

A fabulous event, well planned and run. Four boats from QLD joined a large flotilla from NSW and Victoria for a weekend of adventure and beautiful scenery. (more)

Very entertaining and informative weekend put on by Northside Marine. With 44 Whittleys moored overnight and 5 boats from Northside there for demonstration rides - including the new Cruiser 630, the marina was packed. (more)

Peel Island -> Blakesley's November 2004 

Weather was not favourable for Horseshoe Bay, so the event was diverted to Karragarra and then Blakesley's Anchorage. Excitement during the night as winds increased and anchors dragged.... (more)
