Special presentation for Whittley Owners at Northside Marine – 3rd March 2010

Greg Nickerson and his crew at Northside Marine had extended a welcome to as many Whittley owners as possible to come along after hours on Wednesday 3rd March to the Boondall headquarters. Many Whittley club members attended, as well as many new members and owners who had not yet (and will soon) attend some outings.

A BBQ and some drinks and nibbles were all presented by Northside, and it was great to meet with other members, look at the newer range of boats, and with the help of Greg's crew, check out new products and useful additons to our boats and trailers.

Once we were fed and watered, Greg split us all into 3 groups, and we had 3 x 20 minute sessions on different aspects of our boats, trailers and maintenance. Wayne took us for a session on Engine and boat maintenance, covering fuel additives, problems with E10 fuel and boats, and cleaning products both for boat and trailer, as well as trailer maintenance. Greg did a session with Dave's assistance on trim and tilt and the way to gain maximum performance for minimum fuel flow. And the third session was carried out by the boys from the chandlery and covered electrical items such as the new hi-definition 12 volt TV's, aerials, and then new and improved ranges in both sounders and gps navigation equipment. This was really informative, and in answer to some questions about how to learn to get the best use of your sounder/fish finder and gps, they offered to give 1-on-1 assistance in the shop, for anyone who asks, as long as we give them some notice beforehand.

It was great to meet all our member friends in such informal surrounding, without having to worry about boats, anchorage, tides and weather, and then get some very good information and instruction by such professional and experienced staff from Northside. On behalf of the club, I am sure that they would all agree that I extend our sincere thanks to Greg and all the staff at Northside for such a great night.
