The AGM at Hope Harbour was a huge success - many thanks to all those that attended - and a special thank you to Greg Nickerson and his staff from Northside Marine who made the weekend very special for all. Northside Marine put on a very professional programme with boats for on-water demonstrations, staff to answer all and any queries, workshop info sessions with Navman, Majestic, Sovereign BBQ's, Mercruiser and a rep from Maritime Operations Environment Unit talking about sewerage regulations - very controversial but enlightening. Drinks on the deck followed by dinner, prizes and entertaining conversations were a great way to end a huge Saturday. The on-water demonstrations by the Northside Marine staff provided a unique opportunity to compare these models at the one spot in the same conditions on the same day (and to create our own surf on the Coomera River):
A large turn-out of 44 Whittleys, with a good mix of models occupied every mooring available and then some ! I'd never thought I'd see a 2-berth impoundment with 3 Cruisemasters abreast and a Voyager tucked-in behind. The AGM re-elected the same committee and it was interesting to note the growth in membership this year- particularly retention. Over 184 members and climbing ! Many thanks to all those committee members who worked hard last year, and we are looking forward to an entertaining 2005-6 club year. |
