The Coochiemudlo weekend was a nice and relaxing affair - at Karragarra. Friday night a group of us who are also members of the Southport Yacht Club went to Royal Queensland's facility on Russell Island and had a great evening BBQ, a few drinks, a swim in the pool and good conversation. The Rennies who are boatless at the moment turned up in their tinny (the Pink Pussy) and stayed with the Birchalls aboard Serenity. Saturday saw about 12 boats arrive at Karragarra as the wind was from the East made it a bit lumpy and again Coochie was blown out. The wind eased later in the day and a delicious BBQ was had by all. It was good to see about 3 new members turn up and join in the socialising that is Club Whittley QLD tradition. The Bradleys managed to arrive in Eye Catcher for the weekend before leaving for Vanuatu. Another great Whittley weekend - one day we'll get to Coochie. Submitted by: Graeme Birchall. |
