The Mooloolaba weekend was a great success despite the
threat of rain and cold winds. The marina was new and facilities suitable for us and
Friday night saw a gathering of those present at Peter & Dru Hewitson's. Saturday had about nine boats and 27 members turn up for
the BBQ in the Mooloolaba Spit. Sunday morning we were entertained by the Mooloolaba Sea
Food Festival with sea food and entertainment. Members toured the river and canal having a sticky at the
homes of the Curry-Kennys and many other famous names. The ocean was not overly conducive to off shore travel but
a trip into the bay off Mooloolaba was not out of the question. Thanks to Peter & Dru and the Les & Sharyl for
their great organising of this new venue for the club.
